Moonfleet- Angel Exit Theatre Company

Assisting a young designer over a number of months, we worked with a touring theatre company producing a contemporary adaptation of J. Meade Faulkner's tale about Dorset smugglers. Incorporating Bouffon physical theatre alongside period scenes, the costumes we had made and dyed needed to be adaptable and quirky. We also made puppets that helped to weave the story, sourced props and contributed to the collapsible set, helping the performers get prepared before they headed out across the country

From an intensive week long course at Central St Martins, I learned to capture pose and character quickly, stylising a figure from life drawing. I pushed my personal style and found it freeing to work at speed and allow some 'mistakes' to contribute to design and composition
